My experience in Peru was nothing short of incredible--I had some hard days and some wonderful ones, but the whole trip taught me a lot about the world and about myself. I got to live with an incredible host family, and experience the daily life of Peruvians by being with them. I got to be a tourist and travel on the weekends and see some breathtaking landscapes and ruins. And, I got to meet people from all over the world, and become close friends with the group I went with from UNG.
I learned to laugh at myself, smile a lot, and how to be patient when dealing with cultural differences. Not everyone operates like Americans do, and it was a beautiful thing to get out of my little box and see how other people live. We are certainly blessed to live in this wonderful country of America, and I am happy to be back and share my experiences with you all!
Thanks for following my travels! I've posted a little gallery below of my last "people pictures" from Peru--Stay tuned in the next weeks for new ones from Canada and Alaska!
For now, I'm taking a little time for R&R before I head off for my next adventure of the summer--Canada and Alaska!
