What a day this was!! Adolfo lives in New England and Rosa lives here in the Atlanta area. He had a plan to propose to her while he was here visiting - so he gave me a call and set it all up without her knowing! We made a plan to go to Piedmont Park, and once I saw them from a distance I would just casually follow them around the park until he got ready to pop the question. (luckily the park was packed that day so Rosa didn't notice me stalking them around the park!! haha) Adolfo took his time and found the perfect spot on the dock next to the pond, kneeled down and asked her to marry him. It was clear from her reaction that she had no idea!! Well done, Adolfo - it was so fun to capture this day for you guys!
When she found out I had been following them :)
Watson emailed me 6 months ago with his idea about how he was planning to propose to his girlfriend Lane at the end of October. He said that he was planning to "gift" her a photo session with me for her birthday, and then during the session he would propose. As the last couple months passed, he fine-tuned his plan even more and we created a faux gift certificate for the photo session to really keep her off guard and unsuspecting of anything fishy. He prepared a picnic style set up at the spot in the park where he wanted to propose, got a Bible engraved with her new name (pending she said yes of course), and sent his parents ahead to set it all up so it would be ready when we arrived for the session.
When Lane and Watson pulled up in the car next to me in the park, I could tell he was nervous (and that she had no idea that anything was going on). We began walking and taking photos, heading in the direction of the picnic setup - as if nothing unusual was going on. When we got close to the spot, I told them to walk in front of me and I would take a few photos from behind. And Watson took it from there! He led her up to the spot and sat her down, and then washed her feet and read a sweet letter to her (and I think this is about when she started to figure out what was happening). He handed her the bible and when she saw the name on it her face was priceless! He pulled out the beautiful ring, asked the million dollar question, and she said yes! From the short amount of time I was around this couple, I could tell it was the real thing. They are so sweet together and I know they will make a great team as husband and wife! Congratulations you guys!!!
The "Ah Ha!" Moment :)
And then Lane's "realizing that everyone was lying to her" moment! :)
Even their families were in on it! They were all hiding in the woods!
I met these two for the first time at their engagement session...and right off the bat I knew it was going to be a great one. The pictures are pretty much guaranteed to be awesome when you have a beautiful and fun couple like this one!! They wanted to do their engagement session at UGA, because that's where their love story began. They had three classes together freshman year of college...and the story began, Clay ended up proposing in front of the Chemistry building since that was one of the first places that they talked. It was so sweet to see them reminisce about their time at UGA and learn more about how their story began. I cannot wait to shoot their wedding in December! I know it is going to be incredible! Enjoy a few of my favorites below!
This engagement session was a breath of fresh air! One, because I got to go shoot in a new city for the first time! I've been to Chattanooga several times, but never to shoot, so it was fun to get to explore the downtown area there with this fun couple. Heather is a photographer herself, so it was an honor that she picked me to be the photographer for her own wedding & engagement photos! Early on in one of my questionnaires, she mentioned how much she loved the walking bridge in Chattanooga, and Colby proposed to her there out in front of the art museum (after sending her on a scavenger hunt all around town)...so it only made sense to do the engagement photos there too!! There are some new favorites in here for sure...they are just so sweet together! Check them out!
I had never met Nicole or Jim before doing their engagement session. She had seen some pictures I had done of their friends Catherine and Rob and decided to book me for their NYE wedding!! She wanted a spring garden location for their engagement session since their wedding will be in the winter, and Cator Woolford Gardens was the perfect spot! I had such a great time getting to know these two and getting to explore Cator Woolford for the first time. There were so many favorites from this session so it was hard to narrow down...but here's a few so check them out!!
